Kennedy Agyapong, often known as “Ken Akompreko,” has faced persistent rumours linking him to the cocaine trade, with critics claiming he amassed wealth illicitly. Social media chatter and opposition figures have accused him of involvement in drug trafficking, while he continues to refute these allegations publicly. These accusations have come up repeatedly in the Ghanaian political discourse.

Earlier reports dating back years show repeated references to the so‑called “cocaine saga” tied to Agyapong’s fortune. GhanaWeb recalled that Agyapong was once labelled a "wanted drug baron," with statements suggesting he profited from narcotics. Meanwhile, Agyapong has consistently objected and clarified that such claims are baseless.

In response, Agyapong has insisted his wealth is the result of hard work and business acumen—not drug money. He’s recounted humble beginnings, saying he sold chewing gum at the airport and built a portfolio encompassing farms, real estate, and retail. He maintains that branding him as a cocaine trafficker unfairly undermines his legitimate accomplishments.

On Citizen TV’s platform, he again stressed that his net worth is grounded in decades of entrepreneurial innovation. He urged Ghanaians to recognize his contributions as a philanthropist and job creator, highlighting the assistance he’s extended to students and constituents. He called on skeptics to examine his public record instead of circulating unverified accusations.

Amid these tensions, reports have mentioned that supporters aligned with “Wontumi boys”—a reference to a camp associated with Chairman Wontumi—have accused Agyapong of funneling drug money through their leader’s faction. The factions have reportedly exchanged sharp criticisms, with Agyapong denying any nexus to narcotics or their operations. Their public spat appears to be a newer wrinkle in intra‑party politics.

The latest coverage on Citizen TV reiterated Agyapong's demand for evidence, not innuendo. He emphasized the importance of fact‑checking before letting rumours dominate narratives. The Togoland area broadcast concluded that unless concrete documentation is presented, such speculations should be treated as unfounded.

In conclusion, the allegations linking Kennedy Agyapong to cocaine wealth remain contested. While critics and political opponents cite past labels and statements implying clandestine drug profits, Agyapong consistently rebuts them. The issue now hinges on the presentation of verifiable proof or official investigations clarifying the source of his fortune.
