Asante Kotoko defeated Golden Kick FC 2-1 on Sunday to win the 2024–25 MTN FA Cup, earning them GH¢180,000 in total.
The Porcupine Warriors won their tenth FA Cup in the final, which took place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. Kwame Opoku gave Kotoko the lead, but Bless Ege's incredible free kick tied the score just before halftime.
Following Kotoko's contentious penalty kick late in the game, Opoku converted it with ease to give coach Karim Zito's team the victory.
Kotoko will receive GH¢80,000 in prize money and an extra GH¢100,000 from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to help them in their campaign in the next CAF Confederation Cup, FA Cup Committee Chairman Wilson Arthur said on Sporty FM.
The goal of the funding package is to assist the team in getting ready for continental play.

The Ghanaian powerhouses won their 11th FA Cup victory thanks to two goals from Kwame Opoku, including a contentious penalty in the last minute.
Mr. Okraku expressed his enjoyment of the match and praised both teams for providing spectators with a "unique" show.

The giants from Kumasi will now play for Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup the following year.
After missing both continental titles in the previous three seasons, coach Karim Zito's Porcupine Warriors will be looking to make a successful comeback to Africa.
In the 2023–2024 season, Zito guided Dreams FC to the CAF Confederation semifinals.
