Richard Ahiagbah, the mediadirector of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has denied media reports that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said Ghana will return to the international financial market. to borrow money.

According to Ahiagbah, Akufo-Addo did not make thisstatement during the 2023 Qatar-Africa Economic Forum Roundtable in Doha on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. In a tweet posted on Thursday, May 25, 2023, the NPP mediadirector said the president'sstatement was misinterpreted. 

“President Akufo-Addo did not say that Ghana will go to the capital market soon. The interpretation of what the President said must be interpreted as his own,” part of his tweet read. 

The tweet contained a video of Akufo-Addo's speech on Ghana's return to the capital market. What Akufo-Addo said: 

The president said that the recent approval of the International Monetary Fund's$3 billion loan facility and the successful implementation of the program will put Ghana in aposition to enter the international capital market.closed in the past.



"We think
 it (the $3 billion ransom) ... We will think that we can go back to the country'scapital market for us for our money during the first three or four years of our government. 

"No failure, but it
 is obviously enough to save money, it does so much for us. We will try as much as possible to maintain the required training in the most important conditions for a successful program,” President Akufo-Addo said.
