Liverpool are reportedly interested in completing a summer move for PSG midfielder Renato Sanches - who was previously described as having had 'the worst 45 minutes in Premier League history' at Swansea.

Sanches came from Benfica's youth system and won the Euro 2016 Young Player of the Year award after helping Portugal lift the trophy.

Before the tournament, he agreed to sign for German giants Bayern Munich and join them for an initial fee of €35 million.

However, his first season in Germany did not go quite as planned and he was loaned to Swansea for the 2017/18 season.

But he has also struggled to make a good impression in the Premier League, making just 12 appearances before injury in January kept him out for the rest of the campaign. One such appearance was against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with his performance being called by The Sun the worst 45 minutes in Premier League history.

He was substituted at half-time, shortly after passing the infamous ball to the red section of the billboard instead of his red-shirt teammates.

But Sanches continues to show his great potential. He joined Lille in 2019 and won the Ligue 1 title with the club in his second season.

This led to a move to PSG, where he has scored twice in 16 appearances this season but has been plagued with injuries. And it could soon move again.

According to Football Insider, the 25-year-old central midfielder is on the shortlist of players Liverpool will want to sign this summer.

It has been reported that PSG are ready to allow the Portugal international to leave the club, warning Liverpool that a move could be imminent.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is said to be a 'longtime fan' of the midfielder, and he could be a powerful replacement for Jude Bellingham after the Red Devils were left out of the Borussia Dortmund star move. Dortmund.

The transfer could attract the attention of current Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, who struggled in his first Premier League run before succeeding in another major European league before return. Advertisement

Sanches could do the same next season and add another much-needed dimension to the Reds' midfield with his box-to-box ability.
