Banyana center around key goal
Banyana will proceed with their mission to fit the bill for the 2023 World Cup when they face Tunisia in the quarterfinals of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon) in Morocco on Thursday.
In seven days impacted by a spate of wounds and Covid-19 cases, Banyana stay zeroed in on getting a World Cup capability billet and entry to the elimination rounds of Wafcon on Thursday will ensured the spot.
Banyana midfielder Thalea Smidt said the irrefutable difficulties they have confronted for this present week have not shaken their determination and the players are prepared to battle against Tunisia.
"We identify with Thembi [Kgatlana, who was governed out of the Wafcon on Monday in the wake of supporting a burst Achilles ligament in Banyana's Group C match against Botswana on Sunday] and we realize she is areas of strength for a person who will transcend the injury. However, the state of mind in camp has not changed on the grounds that as players we know our goal, we know why we are here, thus this is an opportunity for every one of the players to lift their hands," said Smidt.
6th positioned Tunisia wrapped as third-set sprinters up in Group B, while third-positioned Banyana completed top of Group C with a 100 percent record.
Mentor Desiree Ellis shared her contemplations as she arranged for the following test in Morocco.
"At the point when we chose the crew [before the tournament], we chose a crew for each possibility in the opposition and that possibility is currently," Ellis said.
"There are clearly in the middle between games, so we need to ensure we keep up with [our physical fitness]. We should continue chipping away at arranging and planning for the following game.
"We set up an arrangement and it is presently dependent upon the players to execute that arrangement."
Banyana face the Tunisians at 9pm (10pm South African time) at Moulay Hassan FUS arena
