Hamilton can succeed at Silverstone, says Wolff

Lewis Hamilton has a genuine possibility winning his home British Grand Prix for a record-broadening 10th time on Sunday and remaining on top of the Formula One platform interestingly this year, as per Mercedes group manager Toto Wolff.

The seven-time title holder has gone 10 races in succession without a success, equalling the longest dry season of his F1 profession.

Once-predominant Mercedes have been plagued with a bobbing vehicle while Red Bull and Ferrari are establishing the rhythm in another standards time.

Mercedes are presenting a few significant updates for Silverstone, in any case, and Wolff would not preclude a major outcome.

"I suppose assuming we give him a vehicle that is only a couple of tenths off the pioneers, he will come out on top in the race," Wolff told Reuters at Silverstone.

"He's the most over the top total driver ever and everyone has his #1 circuit and with Lewis it was generally Silverstone, and Montreal and Hungary also.

"I surmise assuming that you have 150 000 individuals applauding you in the grandstands it gives you the home game benefit."

Found out if Mercedes could give him a vehicle sufficiently close to their opponents, Wolff answered: "I would trust in this way, that we have something nearer to the pioneers here than we had previously."

Hamilton, the game's best driver ever, has 103 wins and posts yet up until this point this season has overseen just two third places, incorporating fourteen days prior in Canada - the Montreal circuit where he took his most memorable success in 2007.

He and Ferrari extraordinary Michael Schumacher are the main drivers to have won a similar stupendous prix multiple times and no driver has at any point done it multiple times.

"We are making progress toward that first success (of 2022). It would be a unimaginable outcome assuming we got that this end of the week," said Hamilton.

The 37-year-old is 34 focuses behind partner George Russell, who will race for Mercedes at home interestingly and has completed in the main five at each race this season.

"Lewis merits serious areas of strength for an and a triumph since he has been especially unfortunate this season and George's driving was simply marvelous," said Wolff.

"Him (Russell) winning a British Grand Prix would be like Lewis, both would very invigorate.
