Liverpool have set a price for Mo Salah, who is asking £160,000 more than Virgil van Dijk

Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool forward, has one year left on his contract.

Liverpool's pre-season schedule is complete as the Reds depart on their travels.

Liverpool may allow Mohamed Salah to leave the club this summer for £60 million after he reportedly demanded £160,000 per week more than Virgil van Dijk in order to sign a new contract. Salah has had a fantastic career at Anfield, but he only has one year left on his current contract and has refused to sign a new one.

In 2017, the Reds paid just £34 million to sign Salah from Roma.

And, after a fruitful debut season on Merseyside in which he scored 44 goals and assisted 16 in all competitions, he was handed a new contract with better terms.

Under Jurgen Klopp, Salah has gone on to become one of the best players in the world, helping his team win the Champions League, Club World Cup, and Premier League during his time at Anfield. And he's won the Premier League's Golden Boot three times.

However, Salah's time at Liverpool may be coming to an end due to a stalemate in contract negotiations between the club and the player. And, according to The Sun, Liverpool's owners, FSG, will consider a shock sale if an offer  in the region of £60m.

Salah earns slightly less than Van Dijk's weekly wage of £240k, but is now said to be demanding weekly wages of £400k, despite previously claiming he doesn't want "crazy" money to stay at Anfield. Reds executives are adamant that they will not break their pay structure to keep him at the club.

Liverpool's latest stance is likely to pique the interest of a slew of clubs, with Real Madrid reportedly keeping an eye on his situation. Salah has a history with the Spanish giants, having lost to them twice in the Champions League final. After missing out on Kylian Mbappe this summer, Real Madrid could make a huge offer to the 30-year-old.

Salah appears to be heading overseas if his time at Anfield comes to an end, as the Reds do not want to sell him to a Premier League rival. As a result, the ace could soon be playing at the Bernabeu Stadium.

Salah has 156 goals and 63 assists in 254 appearances for Liverpool over the last five years. And, even if he retires from football in the coming weeks, the forward will be remembered as one of Liverpool's greatest ever players.
