Bayern Munich is considering an offer for Cristiano Ronaldo , as he has been named as Robert Lewandowski's replacement

According to AS, Bayern Munich intends to replace Robert Lewandowski with Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo if the Poland international leaves this summer.

Lewandowski has long been linked with a €40 million move to Barcelona, which made an initial bid this week. The striker has expressed a strong desire to leave Bayern and pursue new opportunities this summer, and it appears that Ronaldo has a similar mindset at Old Trafford, as it is becoming clear that he wishes to leave.

Ronaldo is losing faith in his ability to win titles with the Red Devils now that Manchester City and Liverpool have signed Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez, respectively. He does not want to squander his time at the elite level and fail to add to his career achievements, while Bayern will compete for the Bundesliga title and be one of the main contenders for the Champions League.

The future of the Portugal international could see him move to Bavaria, which would be a major coup for the Bundesliga champions and would likely mitigate the blow of losing Lewandowski. Having Ronaldo join the likes of Thomas Muller, Kingsley Coman, Leroy Sane, and Serge Gnabry would certainly leave them with plenty of attacking options after signing Sadio Mane from Liverpool.

Hasan Salihamidzic, the director of Bayern Munich, has played down speculation that the Bundesliga champions could sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

Back at Manchester United, the Portuguese superstar endured a disappointing 2021/22 season, with the Red Devils recording their lowest points total since the Premier League's inception in 1992.

Despite United's struggles, Ronaldo managed to score 24 goals in all competitions and was named to the PFA Team of the Year.

According to reports in Europe, he may look to leave United after only one year, and he is concerned about the club's lack of transfer activity.

Bayern Munich has been mentioned as a possible destination for the 37-year-old in recent days, but Salihamidzic has shot down such rumors.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player with a fantastic career." However, there have been reports of a possible deal with Bayern Munich are not true. These rumours have no truth," he told Sky Germany.
