Mesut Ozil's representative on Arsenal "shock", relationship with Mikel Arteta and retirement plan
Mesut Ozil's representative Dr Erkut Sogut talked only to Mirror Football about the midfielder's time at Arsenal and his future at Fenerbahce subsequent to being frozen out in Turkey
Mesut Ozil left Arsenal under a haze in January 2021, finishing an eight-year spell in north London in which he won three FA Cups.
Mikel Arteta could track down no place in his side for the World Cup victor, and exiled him from the two his Premier League and Europa League crews, actually pressuring Ozil to reveal more than was prudent to leave.
Ozil joined the group he upheld as a kid, Turkish goliaths Fenerbahce, and cut off his binds with Arsenal a half year right on time notwithstanding beforehand demanding he would see out the sum of his Emirates contract. He likewise took a £290,000 seven days pay cut simultaneously.
Yet again a year on and Ozil is back having some issues at Fenerbahce, where a contention with manager Ismail Kartal, and question marks over his wellness, have seen him frozen out of a crew.
Ozil's representative Dr Erkut Sogut, in a restrictive meeting with Mirror Football, has considered the shock both he and his client felt after learning Arteta couldn't track down a spot for the German in his group.
"I simply request fair treatment like with some other player," said Dr Sogut. "Yet, to not be in that frame of mind by any stretch of the imagination, that was two or three days before the window was shutting and it was past the point of no return for us to respond in any case.
"Perhaps three days, four days before when I was informed he probably won't be in that frame of mind by any means, he probably won't be recorded. So that was a shock. First for the Europa League and afterward for the Premier League too, that was not normal by us by any stretch of the imagination.
"The mentor didn't need him in the crew and the player needs to acknowledge that, what else is there to do?"
Ozil was contracted at Arsenal until the late spring of 2021 and wanted to see out his time in north London, notwithstanding the issues happening in the background.
