THEY BELIEVED IN ME BECAUSE I TOOK IT SERIOUSLY- DAVIDO ON MUSIC JOURNEY AS A RAPPER

Davido has said in a new interview on Beat FM London 103.6 FM that he started his music career as a rapper belonging to a four-member group.

He said his other members knew the group had a bright future because he took his craft seriously at the expense of his books but with the passage of time he shifted more to singing before he had a breakthrough as a solo artiste.

He threw light on this aspect of his life which many of his fans do not know by saying; “It was funny but I was so small then. We were like four in the crew (Annie, Anico, Tobi, and Emeka).

“I think I will say I was not the best in academics but I feel like they believed because I really loved music. If there was anything they believed was that I was serious, we used to record music, we were like a group.

So we were rappers, we did a talent show and won and I took it seriously. Any time they see me they would be like eh!!! It happened… It’s great to see! It’s a good feeling like when someone that knew you when you were just like nobody.”
