BREAKING: NKORANZA NORTH ROADS FINALLY SEE BITUMEN AFTER YEARS OF OUTCRY

After years of frustration, dust pollution, protests, and dangerous driving conditions, residents and motorists in Nkoranza North in the Bono East Region have finally heaved a sigh of relief as contractors have commenced primer seal and bituminous surfacing works on the Yefri - Tano Boase road.

The latest phase of the reconstruction exercise, under the government's Big Push agenda, starts from Yefri extending to Tano Boase, and from Bono Manso to Sikaa to Pinihi.

According to the Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North, Hon. Joseph Kwasi Mensah, the development marks a significant milestone in the reconstruction of one of the Bono East Region's most economically strategic but heavily deteriorated roads.

Hon. Mensah, speaking during an inspection tour of the project, explained that the application of the primer seal forms a critical preparatory stage for the eventual laying of the first and second coats of bitumen surfacing.

"The process is expected to improve road durability while preparing the surface for final finishing works, and I believe they will finish soon," Hon. Mensah emphasized.

For several years, the Nkoranza North roads remained a major source of concern for commuters, commercial drivers, traders, and businesses operating within the enclave. Deep potholes, loose gravel, and clouds of dust turned daily travel into a nightmare for thousands of road users.

Farmers who depend on the road to transport goods between Busunya, Boabeng, Fiema, Yefri, Kranka, and surrounding communities equally suffered delays and financial losses due to the poor condition of the stretch.

"The worsening condition of the road has eventually come to an end," Hon. Mensah said.

He added, "I am boldly saying that it is only the NDC that helps Nkoranza North with projects, especially roads."

With contractors now visibly applying primer seal and bitumen on the road, confidence appears to be restored among residents.

Hon. Mensah expressed joy during the inspection and urged the contractor to ensure high-quality and durable work to withstand the heavy daily use of the stretch.

He further assured residents that the NDC government remains committed to addressing other deteriorated road networks within the area to improve transportation, stimulate economic activities, and enhance connectivity within the constituency.

Residents who interacted with the MP expressed optimism that the completion of the Yefri - Tano Boase road would significantly reduce transportation costs, improve safety, and boost commercial activities across the enclave and adjoining communities.

Many believe the project will restore public confidence in infrastructure delivery while opening up new economic opportunities for businesses and investors in the area.

"As much as we are happy that the primer seal is finally being applied and the dust situation will reduce, we are equally concerned about the quality of the work being done," a resident stated.

For residents of Yefri - Tano Boase, the sight of heavy construction equipment actively spreading bitumen on the road has generated renewed optimism and excitement after years of disappointment and repeated appeals to successive governments.
