Hiplife and Hip-hop icon Maradona Yeboah Adjei, popularly known as Guru NKZ, is set to thrill fans once again with his much-anticipated new single "Yate Woti".
The new track, produced by celebrated Ghanaian sound engineer Governor was officially revealed on Fabea FM's Entertainment and Showbiz Review hosted by Apiah-Kubi on 29th August, 2026 where a snippet of the song was played for the first time to a massive reaction.
Delivered in a groovy mid-tempo Hiplife rhythm, "Yate Woti" carries Guru's signature style - a perfect blend of English and indigenous Ghanaian dialects, laced with catchy hooks and a relatable message.
According to Guru, "Yate Woti" was inspired by a common trend where people lose their inheritance and rightful power through deception, lies and manipulations.
The song seeks to expose betrayal, rejection and greed - themes many Ghanaians can relate to in family, chieftaincy, business and even politics.
In his own words, the song speaks to "how people are deceived and denied what rightfully belongs to them."
Guru is known for his contemporary hip-hop rap style that blends English with Ghanaian indigenous languages. Guru Nkz's breakthrough came in with his feature on the song "Kasiebor" with Obrafuor and "Bra be hwe" with Sarkodie in 2009. In 2011, he had his first major hit song "Lapaz Toyota", which charted on Ghanaian music charts.
In 2011, he released the single "Lapaz Toyota". Influenced by the Azonto style sounds, the song became a hit. It was referenced by politicians during campaigns and played at the Big Brother Africa finals.The video for the song was awarded the best male act by the City People Entertainment Awards. The same year, he also released the single "Karaoke".
In 2013, Guru came out with six singles.
