The Presiding Member for Bia West in the Western North Region, Hon. Daniel Mbugri, has embarked on a tour to inspect stalled and ongoing infrastructural projects in the district.
The presiding Member for Bia West, has paid a significant working visit to monitor the progress of an ongoing road construction project, 24 Hour Economy Market and CHPS Compounds and classroom blocks.
The tour was aimed at evaluating the progress, quality and timely execution of projects to ensure they meet community standards and ensure accountability.
He emphasized adherence to timelines, quality, and accountability.
Sites visited included the drilling of boreholes, CHPS Compounds, a classroom block, the 24-Hour Economy Market, and road works across the district.
Speaking to Winners FM's Odehyieba after the inspection, Hon. Mbugri expressed satisfaction with the progress of work and urged contractors to work ahead of schedule.
As the presiding member, my primary goal is to see to it that Bia West district gets good infrastructure, economic development, for the overall well-being of the people.The road project is just a good step.
"I am very excited to see the projects ongoing. I embarked on this tour to observe and evaluate whether the projects are in good shape or not, and I am really excited about what I witnessed," he stated.
Hon. Daniel Mbugri, in his address during the visit, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project, noting the positive developments have already been made.
He also mentioned that there are ongoing plans to enhance healthcare services, promote education, and provide more sustainable job opportunities for the youth.
As part of the big push agenda by the government, plans have been made to advocate for more funding and resources from both the central government and development partners to ensure the realization of these project plans.
This projects are a critical part of the government’s effort to enhance road infrastructure in the district and improve connectivity, which is expected to facilitate economic growth and development.
The road conditions in Bia West have been a challenge for many years, and this project is a major step toward improving transportation within the district. Better roads will not only make it easier for people to move around but will also encourage businesses, tourism, and overall economic activities.
He called on chiefs, religious leaders, churches, and community members to support and take ownership of development projects in the communities.
While monitoring the project, Hon. Daniel Mbugri took the time to interact with community members, listening attentively to their concerns and challenges.
He emphasized the importance of feedback from the people in making informed decisions that directly benefit the community.
He said residents should not perceive government projects as belonging to a particular political party, but rather as interventions intended to serve the people of the district.
He emphasized that the projects require collective support from all stakeholders to ensure their successful completion and sustainability, noting that community ownership would help ensure that facilities are properly maintained and serve their intended purpose.
He further stressed that development should not be politicised, as the benefits of government projects extend beyond political affiliations.
