The Super Eagles squad list to face Lesotho and Benin Republic in the final round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers has officially been released.

Head coach Eric Chelle has named a 23-man squad, which was announced on the Super Eagles’ official Twitter page on Friday.

Nigeria will host Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on October 10, before traveling to Cotonou to face Benin Republic on October 14.

With just two matches remaining, the Super Eagles sit third in Group C with 11 points, despite South Africa being docked three points and three goals for fielding an ineligible player against Lesotho. The upcoming games are therefore crucial for Nigeria’s qualification hopes.

Victor Osimhen, who recently returned from injury sustained during the last international break, is expected to lead the Super Eagles attack.

Terem Moffi receives his first call-up since recovering from his ACL injury, while Akor Adams earns his first senior invitation to the national team.

While there are complaints about the midfield with Chelle choosing to invite just four midfieldiers with Alex Iwobi the only creative one invite despite our struggles to create chances. However we would still rally behind the super eagles hoping they would return back to former glory

All eyes will be on Eric Chelle’s men as they aim to secure a ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
