Preparations for the upcoming women's Afcon that would be held in Morocco are still ongoing and the black Queens of Ghana are on a good streak of friendly matches. They played a double in Ivory Coast against their women's team, where they drew the first game and eventually lost the second one. They recently also came up against the female team of Malawi where the team saw a solid performance from top striker, Doris Boaduwaa who scored a hat trick against the Malawians. Before the latest friendly match was the one that they played against the Benin national team, the game ended 4 goals to 2 in favour of the Ghanaians but as always there is a big room for improvement as the new coach is still sizing up his players. He has not really kept long on the job and this is the longest of periods he has gotten with the team since taking over.
The goal came from unlikely sources in this particular match. First one came as early as the 4th minute when Nina Norshie put the ball behind the net. Alice Kusi then followed up with the second goal in the 55th minute of the match. It was not over yet because Susan Duah put another one past the Benin goalkeeper to make it 3 for the queens in the 70 minute. Then also the last one was from Chantelle Hlorkah who wrapped up the day for the queens in the 81st minute. The game then ended 4-2.
There's still more work to do because Ghana is in the same group with countries like South Africa, Mali and Tanzania. At the moment there is not country or team that you can write off . All that must be done is constant practice and team work. A good show puts Ghana on the map again this would be the first competition after 2018.
