Asante Kotoko Sporting club has completed the signing of Johnson Oppong Owusu on a two year deal with options to extend. He is reported to have completed his medicals over the weekend and the unveiling was done on Wednesday the 25th of July 2025, and is now the 3rd player to be announced after the season ended. He is a natural winger but the fact is that he can play on the field as a forceful number 9. 

He is not new to the Ghanaian football system, this guy has been in and around the football ecosystem of Ghana this young man was at Dreams football club somewhere in 2014 before he joined Inter Allies football club then he moved outside the country to play football. He enjoyed it and it was very up and down. But he returned to Dreams football club once again in the 2023/24 season and even played against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium when Abdul Aziz Isaah scored a beautiful free kick to give Dreams FC the win. 

He has also played for Regar tadaz f.c in Tajikistan before which kind of gives him some experience on the foreign front. 

At a very young age Johnson's career has seen him feature in Europe for clubs such as FC Trinity Zlín (Czech Republic), FK Kukesi (Albania), and Portuguese sides Maritimo, Camacha, and SC Braga and also the under 19 side of Brage. He can be tagged as a journey man because he just has a galaxy of teams at this young football age of his.    He was also part of the Dreams FC that that did that magic on the African scene. As first timers they were able to reach the semi final of the competition, just to be defeated by the  giants in the continent. We wish him good luck and all the best to him.
