President Donald Trump showed visible anger this morning as the ceasefire he brokered between Israel and Iran appeared to grow more fragile.

Trump was critical of both sides, but reserved his harshest condemnation for Israel, which he said “unloaded” on Iran “as soon as we made the deal.”

Here’s what else the president said:

  • Frustration with conflict: “We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f**k they’re doing,” a furious Trump said of Israel and Iran, each of which he accused of violating the truce he announced the night earlier.

  • Rebukes Israel: “I’m not happy with Israel. You know, when I say, ‘OK now you have 12 hours,’ you don’t go out to the first hour, just drop everything you have on, so I’m not happy with them. I’m not happy with Iran either,” he said. Trump continued his censure in a social media post that appeared shortly after he departed the White House on Marine One. “ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!” Trump wrote on Truth Social Media

  • Claims Israel will not attack Iran: “ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly ‘Plane Wave’ to Iran. Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect! Thank you for your attention to this matter”

  • Call with Netanyahu: Trump spoke to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this morning and was “exceptionally firm and direct,” a White House source said about what needed to happen to sustain the ceasefire. This source said Netanyahu understood the severity of the situation and Trump’s concerns.

  • Claims Iran will not rebuild nuclear program: “Iran will never rebuild itself,” following US strikes on its nuclear sites, Trump told reporters at the White House before departing for the NATO summit in the Netherlands. “That place is under rock, that place is demolished,” he claimed. The president continued to dismiss reports from several outlets suggested the strikes had limited effect.
