After his recent FA Cup success, Asante Kotoko will consider the technical report of interim coach Abdul Karim Zito before deciding on his future with the team.

In the FA Cup final, Zito led the Porcupine Warriors to a 2-1 victory over Golden Kick, guaranteeing their spot in the CAF Confederation Cup the next season.

Despite the success, his continued status as head coach is still being evaluated.

Communications Director Sarfo Duku stated that management will carefully consider all options before reaching a decision during the club's trophy presentation event at the Manhyia Palace.

"He is an accomplished coach, and if management deems he can take us to Africa, then why not? However, that will come once we have talked about his technical report, evaluated it, and made our decisions," Duku stated to Sporty FM.

After Prosper Narteh Ogum left the squad late in the season, Zito took over as manager. He has received recognition for bringing the team back to stability and winning a trophy at the end of the season.

As they get ready to return to continental football, Kotoko's management is still open to other possibilities.

Ismaily SC table a USD 65,000 bid for Stephen Amankona, the highest scorer in the Ghana Premier League.

Ahead of the 2025–2026 season, Kumasi-based Ezra TV/FM reports that Stephen Amankona, a prolific forward for Berekum Chelsea, has received a formal offer of USD 65,000 from Egyptian powerhouse Ismaily SC.

Over the last two seasons, Amankona, 25, has had an incredible run of play in the Ghana Premier League, finishing as the league's top scorer for the second consecutive year.

After scoring an incredible 19 goals in the previous season, he scored 15 goals in the just-finished 2024–25 campaign.

In addition to improving Berekum Chelsea's standing in the domestic competition, his ability to consistently score goals has drawn interest from clubs throughout Africa.

After rejoining Chelsea in 2023, the former Asante Kotoko forward has now found his best form, displaying style, poise, and a sharp eye for goal.

Ismaily's early bid might start a transfer battle, as Hearts of Oak, his old team, Kotoko, and several South African and North African clubs are apparently interested.

According to people close to the player, Amankona is amenable to looking into opportunities overseas.

Ismaily is eager to strengthen their offense and thinks Amankona's expertise and adaptability will make him a vital part of their offensive strategy.
