Leroy Sane is gearing up for a fresh challenge in Turkey as he parts ways with Bayern Munich, the reigning champions of the Bundesliga, to sign with Galatasaray, who topped the Super Lig. So, here’s the scoop: the 29-year-old was offered a new three-year contract at the Allianz Arena, but the terms weren’t great. He’s chosen to head to Turkey for a more lucrative deal instead.

Reports are buzzing that Sane is indeed making this move to Galatasaray. The German international couldn’t strike a deal with Bayern, meaning he’ll be leaving on a free transfer this summer.

Now, Arsenal showed interest in bringing him on board, and there were whispers about teams from Saudi Arabia wanting him too. But it looks like Sane has found a three-year deal with Galatasaray that could be worth around €15 million a year—though, fun fact, nothing's been signed just yet. This all comes just as Victor Osimhen, the Super Lig’s top scorer, heads back to Napoli after his loan stint in Istanbul.

As for other clubs keeping an eye on him, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham have all been mentioned as potential suitors. His agent, Pini Zahavi, has reportedly had chats with all of them. It’s been quite the saga for Sane and Bayern, especially since he’s snagged four Bundesliga titles since moving from Manchester City in a hefty £55 million deal back in 2020.

Zahavi even shared a bit of optimism about staying at Bayern, saying he had a "nice dinner" with the club chiefs, but it seems that Bayern might be losing a key player after all. According to reporter Florian Plettenberg, Sane turned down an improved offer from Bayern and is deep in discussions with Galatasaray.

While Sane has been linked with Arsenal, it seems like his future is leaning more towards Turkey. Sky Germany claims he’s verbally agreed to the move, and the Super Lig champs are offering him a net salary between €10 and €12 million a year, which is about £8.5 million to £10 million. They’re just putting the finishing touches on the deal before making it official.

Oh, and by the way, Sane isn’t expected to join Harry Kane and the rest of the Bayern squad for the Club World Cup in the U.S. that kicks off this week. During his time at Bayern, Sane made 220 appearances and contributed to 116 goals, including 16 that helped them clinch the Bundesliga title last season. Quite the journey, huh?
