Augustine Sefah, a former Ashantigold and Asante Kotoko defender, laments not playing for the Black Stars and the dearth of options to play outside of Ghana.

The 34-year-old, who has not yet declared his retirement, has played for Medeama, Ashantigold, Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, and Nations FC during his time with several regional teams.

The seasoned right-back lost out on playing for a team outside of Ghana, even though he had established himself as a vital element of the domestic scene.

In an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, Sefah emphasized that he wanted to play for the Black Stars and spend time overseas.

"One of the largest clubs in Ghana and Africa overall, Medeama, Ashantigold (now defunct), and Kotoko, gave me the chance to play for them. Despite my popularity in the league, I have two regrets about my career. I regret not being able to play overseas and with the Ghanaian Black Stars. He remarked, "I wish I had played for Ghana and spent some time outside of Ghana before retiring."

To make up for his football career regrets, the defender is committed to becoming the best coach he can be.
