Galatasaray are the 2024/2025 Turkish Super Lig champions! They sealed the title with an eight-point lead at the top of the table after a 3-0 win against Kayserispor. Recall that their closest rivals, Fenerbahçe, had earlier dropped two crucial points in their own match against Kayserispor, drawing the game — a result that helped Galatasaray clinch the title.

This is Galatasaray's 25th Turkish Super Lig title, earning them the prestigious fifth star on their logo (5 Super Lig titles = 1 star). As an observer of the league, I’m not entirely sure why Fenerbahçe have an additional star on their logo — but regardless, we move.

The match was filled with all sorts of emotions. Galatasaray fans unveiled a banner urging Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan, to stay with the club permanently. Osimhen opened the scoring with a header from a corner delivered by Gabriel Sara. A wholesome moment followed when his daughter, Hailey, announced his name in the stadium after the goal.

Barış Alper Yılmaz added a second goal for Galatasaray, also in the first half. He celebrated by taking a selfie with his teammates. Gabriel Sara was subbed off in the 63rd minute for Álvaro Morata, who was later awarded a penalty following a VAR review in the dying minutes of the match.

Although Victor is the primary penalty taker and Morata the backup, Osimhen made a touching gesture by handing the penalty to Galatasaray's legendary goalkeeper and captain, Fernando Muslera. Muslera, who has served the club for 14 years and is likely to leave at the end of the season with just two matches remaining, converted the penalty — making it 3-0.

The match ended in a 3-0 victory for the Lions at their home ground, Rams Park — making it even sweeter to celebrate the title in front of their fans. This is also Galatasaray’s third consecutive Turkish Super Lig title. With this triumph, they have completed the domestic double, having already won the Turkish Cup.
