Liverpool are set to replace vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold with another attacking right-back in the person of Jeremie Frimpong. Recall that Trent had announced his intention to leave Liverpool on a free transfer at the end of the season. While Connor Bradley is seen as the perfect fit to replace Trent in the squad, this has already been confirmed by Liverpool coach Arne Slot, whose plan is to start Bradley in their home game against Arsenal.

Slot, in a press conference, stated that he fully trusts Connor to "start" in place of Trent. This move is aimed at preparing for Trent's absence next season. However, injury concerns with Bradley mean that Liverpool may not be able to rely on him long-term, and he might potentially serve as a backup option while the club seeks another player.

According to reports from sports journalists, Liverpool have made enquiries about signing Frimpong. The player played a major role in Bayer Leverkusen’s title-winning season.

Frimpong is typically deployed either as a right-back or a right wing-back by Xabi Alonso. Alonso has also confirmed that he will be leaving Leverkusen at the end of the season, and with Xabi, Florian Wirtz, Jonathan Tah, and even Jeremie Frimpong potentially set to leave, all I can say is Leverkusen’s title-winning team is falling apart. But hey, that's football — we rebuild and rebuild again.

Jeremie Frimpong reportedly has a £30–40 million release clause in his contract, which can be paid over seven installments — that is, over seven seasons.

If Liverpool, who are seriously interested in him, manage to get Frimpong this summer, it could be a great addition for the Premier League champions.

Of course, it would be difficult to forget Trent — not that Trent can ever truly be forgotten, given his contributions to Liverpool, including the famous "corner taken quickly" assist against Barcelona in the UCL, which led them to the finals. However, Liverpool will have to move on, and they plan to do so with their interest in Frimpong.
