*Akatakyieso Residents stage massive demo over National security seizure of private mining concersion.*
Residents of Akatakyieso located in the Amansie central district of the Ashanti region, have clad in read to stage demonstration to protest against the National security seizure of private mining concersion their area.
The demonstration, named *Yɛn pene* demo which aims to bring Government attention on how some party supporters hidding behind fight against Galamsey to frustrates legal miners.
The demonstrators are calling on the president to withdraw all the so called national securities from the private mining site to continue it's operation since it's operating legally.
Jonas Owusu ,the leader of the demonstration addressing the media said the owner of the private mining firm Michael Owusu since it operation in the community hasn't been selfish but have support the community development in so many ways.
" He has rehabilitate our Jhs block, provide security for the chip compound , building a police Post for the community , build a new palace and support the aged in the community annual " he name
According to him the community is demanding immediate removal of the securities from site .
The smart mickey mining is
Unlike the alluvial small scale mining that involves excavators, this mine does rock mining where deep holes are dug into the belly of the earth in search of gold.
Under this system, simple tools are used to excavate rocks containing gold for processing.
But the Ashanti Regional Security Liaison, Captain (Retired) John Kwame Jabari, the security operatives seized the site due to the mode of operations.
The eighteen member committee on mining instituted by the Lands Ministry has revealed the private Mining firm has all documents covering the mine intact.
At the other site mined by the community, have all documents but operational permit are secured.
The protesters says if government refuse to take off the securities from site within two weeks, it will turn bloody.
" We won't allow them to take our source of income , this mining firm has created job for the youth which has combat crime in the Akatakyieso community."
In the protesting all the aged men and women, pupils and the Youths together with the traditional leaders hold plycards to demonstrate in solidarity of Micheal Owusu the owner of the private mining firm, since he has become the bread winner of the community through this mining .
The plycards contains a lot to thier message to the government and the authorities.
