Today marks 6 years Liverpool made a great comeback against Barcelona
It's been six years since Liverpool FC completed an impressive Champions League comeback on a night of pure magic at Anfield. This match has got rival fans, pundits, and Liverpool fans surprised.
This match has brought so much joy to Liverpool fans across the world and brought sadness to Fc Barcelona fans across the world. Before the second leg, the first leg took place in Camp Nou when Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez helped Barca beat Liverpool by 3-0.
In Barcelona’s history, they have only won 5 Uefa Champions League trophies same amount as Liverpool in 2019. After the defeat, Liverpool came back to Anfield with disappointments despite having a new coach in Jurgen Klopp who made the UCL finals against Real Madrid back in 2018 and lost by 4-1 with Karius mistakes which cost Liverpool the title.
In 2019, they were loosing by 3-0 in the semi final against Barcelona and in the second leg, Liverpool made another big comeback against Spanish side, Barcelona. With Divock Origi opening the scoring in the first ten minutes, Wijnaldum scoring the second and the third and a "Corner taken quickly" by Trent Alexander-Arnold to give Origi an assist and scored to make it 4-0 full time which made it, 4-3 on aggregate and got Barcelona eliminated.
Liverpool went on into the final to face Tottenham Hotspur and beat them by 2-0 and won their 6th Champions league trophy. After the first leg, Messi made a statement by saying, "The Uefa Champions League trophy will come back to Camp Nou " not knowing what he was about to face at Anfield.
