After his departure and the change of management from Roman Abrahamovic to Todd Boely, Chelsea are struggling to play European football. In 2021, Chelsea beat Liverpool by 1 goal to 0 at Anfield with Mason Mount scoring the only goal to decide the game and since then till date, they went on to beat Liverpool on 4th May, 2025 after four years.
All these years, Liverpool have been the best of the football teams competing with the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Atlético Madrid, and Inter Milan all in European football and domestic matches too.
Liverpool were very strong which made Chelsea to struggle to even get a draw against them. Liverpool who are the current Premier league champions, face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea needed the 3 points most and Liverpool have to bench most of their stars, Dominik Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Ibrahima Konate, Andre Robertson, and Luis Diaz.
Most football fans say, Liverpool just wanted to give Chelsea all three points despite they needing more points to get European place. At the end of the match, Chelsea went on to beat Liverpool by 3 - 1 to claim all three points.
