The man of God shared that before draping Bawumia with the shawl, the Vice President, who is also the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), specifically asked for it. Prophet Adom Kyei-Duah emphasized that, as a humble servant of God, he felt he had no choice but to fulfill Bawumia’s request. He clarified that his actions were not driven by personal will or preference but rather by his duty to respond to a request from someone in authority, such as the Vice President.

Many people criticized the man of God for covering Bawumia with his sacred prayer shawl but refusing to do the same for former President John Mahama.
